Jack’s Story

The 23 year old is a volunteer at the Waterloo Sports and Football Club and, like everyone else who registers for run2workday, he’ll be donating the cost of his daily travel to the charity. Osborne’s appreciation comes from
seeing the difference that the Dispossessed Fund has made to the young people at his football club. In 2011, Waterloo FC were able to take their players on a residential sports tour to Merseyside that culminated in a dream trip around Anfield, home of Liverpool FC, thanks to the fund. Last year, 12 members of the club attained their Football Association Level One coaching badges after receiving a grant from the Dispossessed Fund, and a further 50 young people enrolled on the Skills 4 Life programme, which offers access to a range of educational activities with a focus on mentoring, accredited qualifications and multi-sport.
